Shopping for your parties and summer BBQs can be a stressful experience, as we’ve all seen the line ups on a Friday evening when the sun is going down. Fortunately, there are numerous options in the West End for purchasing a wide range of beer, wine and spirits.
The brand new and recently renovated Denman Beer Wine and Spirits brings a relaxing and calm shopping experience to the busy retail scene on Denman. The locally owned and operated liquor store has a brand new team, most of whom live in the West End, and they are proud to be a part of a dynamic and growing neighbourhood.
When speaking with General Manager and Wine Director Cyndy Pellegrin, it became apparent that the entire team is passionate about quality and locally sourced products, with over 2000 different options available in store. Cyndy comes from a long career in the wine industry, bringing a fountain of knowledge about wines from all over the world. According to her, her favourite wines are ones that pair well with amazing food (which you can certainly find here in the West End!).
The on-site dedicated craft beer manager couldn’t even pick a favourite beer – there are just too many to choose from, with new products coming in every week. The store hosts weekly beer and wine tastings, with details posted on their Facebook page regularly. The tastings often feature local favourites such as Postmark Brewery, Bridge Brewing Company, Moody Ales, Four Winds and Dageraad Brewing.
