“Tales From the West End” explores our community through stories about our common past. Each month, West End residents gather at JJ Bean Coffee Roasters (1209 Bidwell Street), situated in one of the neighbourhood’s most storied buildings formerly known as “Maxine’s”.

This month’s featured storyteller is award-winning journalist Kevin Dale McKeown, the former editor of The West Ender and editor and publisher of the recently launched community website, The West End Journal. His story will focus on “The Naming of Davie Street: Exploding An Urban Myth”.

Author Aaron Chapman will be also dropping in to tell us a story from his latest book, The Last Gang in Town just nominated for a BC Book Prize.

We encourage you to listen, sketch, and bring your own stories and historic photographs of the West End to share with your neighbours.
